Cake Order Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all cake order with the exception of late cake orders, which have their own terms and conditions.

 

Cake Order Policy

  • A ‘regular’ cake order is required to be placed at least 7 days prior to the event, however the more time in advance of the event ensures the date required can be met

  • For ‘highly detailed/designed/intricate cakes’, the order must be placed at least 14 days prior to the event

  • Orders will be discussed in full and any cake design can be requested:

    • Customer can show pictures of cakes they are inspired by

    • Customers can show elements of other cakes they are inspired by

    • Customers can provide a brief and a cake will be designed by Essence of Cake (EoC)

  • Once the order details are agreed, a written order confirmation will be sent by email.  It is the responsibility of the customer to review the confirmation and ensure it is correct.  If there are any errors, the customer must advise EoC immediately

  • EoC do not accept responsibility if they are not advised of any errors within the written confirmation

  • To secure the date required, a 50% deposit must be paid within 3 days of receipt of the order confirmation, by either bank transfer, debit/credit card/link payment (fees apply) or cash

Cancellation Policy

 

Essence of Cake must be notified of any cancellation in writing.  Once the order is secured with a deposit, the following cancellation policy applies. 

Regular Cakes

  • If the order is cancelled more than 7 days prior to the due date, a 50% refund applies

  • If the order is cancelled 7 days or less, prior to the due date, 0% refund applies

Highly Detailed/Designed/Intricate Cakes

  • If the order is cancelled more than 14 days prior to the due date, a 50% refund applies

  • If the order is cancelled 8-13 days prior to the due date, a 25% refund applies

  • If the order is cancelled up to 7 days prior to the due date, a 0% refund applies

Wedding Cake Order Policy

  • A wedding cake order is required to be placed at least 60 days prior to the event, however the more time in advance of the event ensures the date required and the agreed design can be met

  • Orders will be discussed in full and any cake design can be requested:

    • Customer can show pictures of cakes they are inspired by

    • Customers can show elements of other cakes they are inspired by

    • Customers can provide a brief and a cake will be designed by Essence of Cake (EoC)

  • Once the order details are agreed:

    • EoC will provide a written order confirmation, which will be sent by email.  It is the responsibility of the customer to review the confirmation and ensure it is correct.  If there are any errors, the customer must advise EoC immediately

    • A wedding cake contract will created, discussed and signed

  • EoC do not accept responsibility if they are not advised of any errors within the written confirmation

  • To secure the date required, a 50% deposit (this includes a £100 non-refundable save the date deposit) must be paid within 3 days of receipt of the order confirmation by either bank transfer, debit/credit card/link payment (fees apply) or cash

Wedding Cake Cancellation Policy

  • If the order is cancelled more than 60 days prior to the event, Essence of Cake must be notified in writing. £100 of the deposit is non-refundable and any payment made over £100 will be refunded

  • If the order is cancelled after this point, a 0% refund applies
